37th Kolkata International Book Fair

WBREDA has received sportanious response from the 37th Kolkata International Book Fair from January 26 to February 10, 2013. During the mela period, nearly 5 lacs people have visited the stall of WBREDA. WBREDA has organised Energy Quiz in front of the WBREDA’s Stall (Stall No.119) on last two days of the Book Fair. Photographs of our stall and list of Winners of the Energy Quiz are given here. WBREDA had placed a spot Energy Drop Box for instant enquiries which has also received very good response from the visitors.

WBREDA will organise World Solar Cooking Day at following locations on 06/05/12 during 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food will be prepared through Solar Cooker and would be distributed among the people.

Recent Development
  • The power demand in Sagar Island is, at present, met from Solar PV Power of aggregate capacity about 250 kW and from a diesel generator power system of capacity 400 kW. The total number of consumer in Sagar Island is to the tune of 1500 now.

    However, there are a large number of prospective consumers, who are awaiting for electric power.Under such circumstances,WBREDA has decided to set up a Wind-Diesel Hybrid power Plant of capacity 500 kW to cater the need of the Island people. [ more ]
